Sheila Merritt is the Vice President of New Business Development for Q&A Events,
working on program ideation as well as managing sales and client
services.
Since her emergence on the music scene, Sheila
has worked on virtually every aspect of the industry, from a record
label to a publishing company, a set design company, as well as an
entertainment and production company.
Merritt's various career projects include the production of Mercury
Nashville's 50th Anniversary Box Set, the production of several stages
and sets for major tours and events, and managing the New York debut of
the Montreux Jazz Festival. Her television credits include 1998's Emmy
Award winning Goodwill Games Opening/Closing Celebrations, 1999's Hard
Rock Rockfest, several CBS television specials, as well as Associate
Producer and Segment Producer duties for a number of television
projects. Sheila has
also worked on private events for corporate clients ranging from Delta Airlines to the NBA.
Sheila has a personal commitment to a variety of important causes and as such,
has lent her skills and experience to a number of charitable events and
programs. She is particularly adept at fundraising, and has done so for
the National Organ Donor Foundation, the National Women's History
Project, the HRC and several local charities and foundations in her
community. She has also actively participated in several election
campaigns for a variety of political candidates and spent several years
serving on her City's Cultural Enrichment Commission as the Mayoral
Appointee.
Ms. Merritt is an active member of several organizations. She is a Charter Member
of the National Women's History Museum, and also belongs to the National
Association of Female Executives, the Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta Chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES), the Convention & Visitors Bureau, Atlanta's High Museum of Art and of
course, she has served on the board of the AGLCC for several years and was named the 2009 President of the organization.
